A character's voice is part of how they are presented. We include voice settings in character creation, alongside the avatar, profile, and greeting.

Choose or mix the character's voice
In character creation, choose a voice from our library or blend up to five tones. Adjust the ratio of each tone, then listen to a sample. Try a neutral sentence and a line from the greeting before saving the choice.
A reserved archivist and an impatient pilot may need different speaking styles. Use the voice to support the personality in the profile rather than relying on the portrait to convey it.
Listening and other voice actions
Voice listening and additional voice-related actions can have different access requirements. Our membership comparison lists voice listening among its benefits; check your current plan rather than assuming a voice feature uses the same allowance as text chat.
If you cannot hear a reply, check device volume, browser sound permissions, and whether playback is paused. A working text response does not confirm that the device is allowing audio.
When audio still will not play
Try another character or browser to narrow down the issue. When contacting us, include your device, app or browser version, and whether the problem affects every voice or only one.
